<strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Charities</strong> PhilanthropyThe generosity of individuals,corporations and foundationsenables <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Charities</strong>to serve those in need in thisenvironment of increaseddemand. <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Charities</strong>gratefully acknowledges thisgenerosity and, in particular,the volunteer leadership ofits fundraising efforts.The Cardinal’s Committee for CharityThe Cardinal’s Committee for Charity is a membershipof civic, corporate and philanthropic leaders fromthe New York metropolitan area who support<strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Charities</strong> at the request of His Eminence,Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan, Archbishop ofNew York. Funds raised enable <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Charities</strong>to assist tens of thousands of individuals and familiesto live in greater dignity without regard to religion,race, ethnicity or ability to pay. Membership beginswith an annual gift of $5,000 or more and offersparticipants special benefits throughout the yearbased upon the level of commitment.The Cardinal’s Committee for Charity is chairedby Trustees of the Board of <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Charities</strong>.The Chairs and Stewards serve as the <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Charities</strong>Development Committee and meet quarterly toprovide strategic direction to its fundraising efforts.Junior BoardThe Junior Board offers volunteer and philanthropicopportunities to a new generation of caring New Yorkers.A network of more than 500 young professionalsengage in social, fundraising, volunteer and faith-basedactivities to support <strong>Catholic</strong> <strong>Charities</strong> with servingthose in need.• Junior Board GalaThe springtime <strong>Annual</strong> Gala hosted by the JuniorBoard supports fundraising efforts for the <strong>Catholic</strong><strong>Charities</strong> Junior Board.• St. Nicholas ProjectThe St. Nicholas Project carries on the tradition ofgenerosity and charity characteristic of St. Nicholas,the third century Bishop of Myra. At Christmas time,donors from our Adopt-a-Family program andvolunteers organized by the Junior Board foster ablessed holiday by partnering with Kmart and othersto provide coats, gloves, blankets and toys to nearly4,000 individuals.
