checking measurements from current and voltage transformers<br />

Integrated With meter station flow, pressure and temperature logging on computer They<br />
do not yet know The Instrument and accessories are stili packed In boxes and It IS<br />
questionable If equipment Will be Installed and commissioned by the end of August<br />
Zirtek Boiler Oxygen Analyzers<br />
The two Zirtek oxygen probes are Installed on Unit 3 bOIler angled downward above a<br />
burner on each Side ThiS IS not a good location because of the pOSSibility of flame<br />
Impingement and high temperature and slag damage Zirtek engineer recommended<br />
location higher up In radiant section In fire box Recommended temperature range for<br />
ZirCOnium OXide cell long term performance IS 600 to about <strong>12</strong>00°C<br />
The reason probes were Installed on Unit 3 IS the fuel split IS about 90% coal, 5% gas and<br />
5% mazut and burner deSign results In unstable flame and IneffiCient combustion DUring<br />
the commiSSIOning test, oxygen was measured at 11-<strong>12</strong>% and 870-900°C The bOIler IS<br />
presently shut down for repairs<br />
