ACTIVITIESKavi SammelanThe month of April was very hectic for ourBranch. We organised Ram Navmi (1 April)Mahavir Jayanti (5 April) & Baisakhi (14 April).All these programmes were well-attended. Theprogrammes in May are given below:The branch organized a Kavi Samm elan on 5th May, <strong>2012</strong> in thepremises of Arya Samaj, G.K.I Over 150 members heard andappreciated the participant Kavis. The function was presided overby Padamshree Shayam Singh Shashi and anchored by Dr. RekhaVyas and Shri Vijay Gupt.Health Care ProjectsG.K.-I BranchThe Branch took special steps to take care of the health ofmembers and public at large. In this connection the followingmeasures were taken:Free Health Chech Up CampThis was organized on 26th May in collaboration with FortisHealthcare at Arya Samaj G.K.I Th e focus was diabetes , Thyroid,Weight loss, Osteoporosis, Hypertension and Cholestoral. 65patients attended the Camp.YOGA SHIVIR: (a) This shivir commenced from 11th May and theclasses ar e held 5 days a weekat 6.30 a.m. at R Block Park. It isopen to all.(b) Another yoga shivir organized exclusively by some ladies from6.00 a.m. to 6.30 a.m. every day. This is held under supervision ofour esteemed member, Smt. Manju Gupta.HOMOEOP ATHIC DISPENS ARY: During May, <strong>2012</strong> as many as 383patients were treated with medicines by our doctor Geeta Garg.ACTIVITIES....contdGURU ARJUN DEV JI SHAHEEDI DIWAS: To commemorate theShaheedi Diwas of the 5th Guru, Shri Arjun Dev ji, a function wasHelp to Poor: A sewing machine was donated to a poor andorganized on 25th May at R Block Park. Achievements of the Guru,handicapped lady by one of our members in the Meeting.his teachingsand the causes which led to his martyrdom wereexplained in depth by one of our esteemed members Col. (Retd.) Achivements recognized: Our Branch won 7 positions as markK. R. Sabharwal.NEW MEMBERS: 4 new members were enrolled in the month ofMay, <strong>2012</strong>.Promila GroverPresidentC-2 Janakpuri BranchGeneral Body MeetingMonthly General Body Meeting of the branch wasorganized on 29th April <strong>2012</strong> where 71 membersattended the meeting. The members wereentertained with Bhajans, songs, Ghazals,Kavitas, etc.Presentation of Audited Accounts ReportsReceipt and Expenditure accounts reports (Audited) for theyear 2011-<strong>2012</strong> were presented to the members of the Branchapproved by the members.Honouring the senior members (80 years and above)Our Branch Committee in its earlier meeting had decided tohonour the senior and dedicated members of the branch whoare 80 years and above. In our General Body Meeting held on 29-04-<strong>2012</strong>, four members were especially invited of which twomembers were present & honoured.In addition to senior members, founder and dedicated membersof the branch were all honoured by presenting a Shawl andmomento by our Central and State leaders viz S/Shri I.D. Ohja,B.L Prashar, K.B. Mahajan and K.C. Sud. Chairman and GeneralSecy of Geeta Mandir S/Sh S.K Choudhary, K L Singhal and otherprominent citizens of the area were also present.Celebration of birthday of Members : Birthday of ninemembers who were born in the month of April was celebrated inusual Indian traditional of Pooja by Panditji.General Body Meeting: Monthly General Body Meeting of theBranch was held on 27th May, <strong>2012</strong>. 64 membersattended.There were Bhajans, Gazal s, songs and Kavitas by ouresteemed members, viz. Kanchan Bhalla, Vijay Behl,V.D.Sharma,B.S.Sharma, J.R.Dass , Dr. Vikram Chopra, MukeshMittal and V.k.Sudan.Honouring of Senior Member s: Our Executive Committee, inits earlier meeting had decided to honour senior and dedicatedmembers of the Branch who are 80 years and above. In thisseries our Patron Shri Kuldeep Seora and Shri M.P.Saxsena werehonoured with shawls and momentoes in the meeting.Celebration of Members’ Birthdays: Birthday of 13 memberswho were born in the month of May was celebrated in the usualHindu tradition by Pandit ji. They were all blessed with ahealthy and long life.Workshop of Office Bearers organized by S. Delhi State:Nine members including President, Gen. Secretary, Treasurerand conveners attended the workshop on 20th May at DAVModel School, Yusuf Sarai.of recognition of our achievement in various fields for the year2011-12.H.K.BabbarGen. Secr etary4Olives are pressed to get oil, fruits are squeezed to get juice, flowers are crushed for perfume.These are some of the methods used to get goodness out of things.

Mrs DEVINDER KAURGANDHI, a senior member of the Branch along with herassociates from Gurudwara Singh Sabha, A1 Block,Janakpuri presented melodious “SHABD” pertaining to thelife and deeds of Shri Guru Jee which kept the audiencespell bound in all pervading atmosphere of Spiritualism. Dr.R.C. MISHRA, Ex. Reader from D.U. who has also authored abook on Shri Guru Jee, in his illuminating and thoughtprovoking talk made a fervent appeal to take a leaf from thegreat Guru Jee's life for remaining stead fast in our resolveto tread the path of truth even at the risk of our lives.Mrs Madhu Seth, President, proposed a vote of thanks. BVPDelhi (South) was kind enough to spare sometime from hisbusy schedule to attend this programme. Undoubtedly hisvery presence proved to be the morale booster of theorganizers and children alike. Shri Abhishek from “Art ofLiving” conducted the “Dhyan Session”. Children of theongoing CPDC presented melodious song “SANYAM MEYJEEVAN HO”.
