Support to Community Development and Co-ordinatingCouncil (CDCC) and Community Development Committees(CDCs)The Enugu Community Development and CoordinatingCouncil (CDCC), established by theGovernor to promote development activitiesat community level, established a number ofCommunity Development Committees in 2005and 2006. PATHS capitalised on this opportunityand used the CDCs to raise awareness atcommunity level of the DHS, and to encouragecommunity members to use public facilities. Atotal of 340 autonomous communities (out of630) across the length and breadth of EnuguState participated in these awareness raisingactivities.When asked if the community hadsupported the health centre in anyway, Chief George.N. Oko replied: “Yes.The community assist by keeping thesurroundings clean and also some youthsin the community volunteer to secureequipment and drugs supplied by PATHS.They have been doing this for about twoyears now.”Chief George N.
