They feature720p HD and 5megapixelresolutions, and athird model with1080p Full HD resolutionis due to follow next month.The B<strong>IP</strong>2-1280c-dn high definitionmodel provides real-time video at a framerate of up to 30 fps using MJPEG, MPEG-4, and H.264compression. The B<strong>IP</strong>2-2500c-dn <strong>IP</strong> Fixed BoxCamera model is equipped with a 5 megapixelsensor to record even the smallest image details ata frame rate of 9 fps.Their attractive pricing makes Basler's new CMOSsensor camera models a great value for an entrylevel product. In addition, CMOS sensors exhibit anumber of image quality related advantages such asthe almost complete lack of smearing effects, i.e.,stripes in the image caused by an extremely brightlight source. Blooming, a condition where very brightimage structures extend into the darker structures,is also a very rare effect in cameras equipped withCMOS sensors as compared to CCD sensor cameras.<strong>IP</strong>Honeywell Introduces NewMiniature True Day/NightPTZ Dome to thePerformance SeriesHoneywell have announced the addition of a miniature TrueDay/Night PTZ dome camera to its Performance Seriesrange. The HDTX PTZ dome offers the economy and size ofa fixed lens mini-dome camera whilst offering thefunctionality and versatility of a PTZ dome. The HDTX is alow profile unit suited to areas where a larger dome isimpractical. Its small size remains virtually unnoticed invarying indoor surveillance applications, so it is perfect forretail sites or other environments where customers andvisitors are monitored.The camera provides excellent picture quality – even in lowlight - due to its 10X optical zoom lens and 470 TVLresolution. A single connection lead connects straight intothe dome, saving the installer time on site or allowing moredomes to be commissioned per day. Each unit comes withfittings so that it can be flush or surface-mounted.
