Scott Peck (“Rebecca St. JamesGoes Back to Work,” Jesusfreakhideout.com, April 22, 2008).Peck says “God wants us to become Himself (or Herself orItself). We are growing toward God. God is the ultimate goalof evolution” (e Road Less Traveled, 1978, p. 270).It is unconscionable that a Christian would recommendsuch an author and such a book in any sense whatsoever.Obviously she doesn’t recognize the demonic spirit of theNew Age.322

In the same interview, St. James called e Shack“absolutely extraordinary.” She resonated with the false goddepicted in e Shack, a god who is female, cool, nonjudgmental,does not exercise wrath toward sin, does notsend unbelievers to an eternal fiery hell, does not requirerepentance and the new birth, and puts no obligations onpeople.
