Yet the most unsettling were the laughers,those helpless devils who were now rolling around on the floor,holding their stomachs, their minds obviously gripped by sometransformative, incomprehensible power. What we observed wassickening and diabolical. Many times we felt like walking outand had to force ourselves to stay.REPETITIOUS ROCK MUSIC. For the first forty-fiveminutes a band with two soloists led the singing. e peoplewere standing and singing with them to deafening rock typemusic. e songs were about worshipping the Lord, but themusic and behaviour seemed to be opposed to the Lord’shonour. During the singing, the crowd was progressivelyaroused. In all, only about four different songs were used but273
