Kilpatrick is affiliated with Christian Musician Summit(CMS), which is radically ecumenical and has the objective ofunifying “the Church.” is refers to the ecumenical agendaof building the one-world church. e CMS statement offaith is so shallow as to be almost meaningless. It consists offive brief sentences, including “We believe God’s grace is allwe need.” e vagueness and brevity of the statement of faithis by design so as not to get in the way of the ecumenicalagenda. Another of their objectives is kingdom building.e ecumenical broadness of Kilpatrick’s music is evidentin that his song “Bring em Home” was sung at MotherTeresa’s funeral service in Calcutta. Hillary Clinton told thesinger how “touched she was by the song” (“Bob KilpatrickAuthor Profile,” n.d., newreleasetuesday.com). Kilpatrick’smusic was perfectly at home in a place devoted to theveneration of Mary as Queen of Heaven and perfectlyacceptable to a woman who admitted that her devotional lifewas one of darkness and emptiness and referred to herself asthe “saint of darkness.” Mother Teresa was a universalist whobelieved that all men are already children of God. (See WasMother Teresa a True Christian? which is a free eBookavailable from Way of Life Literature -- www.wayoflife.org.)Kilpatrick is moving deeply into the contemplative prayermovement. His book Secrets of the Silence teaches “the powerof praying without words.” is is blind contemplativemysticism which came from the Roman Catholic monasticsystem. Kilpatrick seeks to hear “God’s voice” beyond theBible, beyond thinking, beyond conscious prayer. Kilpatrick’ssilence is different from the silence of biblical contemplation, which refers simply to finding a quiet place in which the soulcan effectively seek the Lord through prayer and meditatingon Scripture. In biblical contemplation, we don’t sit with anempty mind and do nothing but “listen for God’s voice” in amystical sense. Rather we hear God’s voice as we open theBible and read and meditate on its words, and we pray to Godwith our mind in full gear IN WORDS.206
