It collects signalinformation from photo sensors (light levels), occupancy sensors(occupancy status) and wall mounted lighting controllers. It thendetermines appropriate brightness levels or ON/OFF status for eachfixture and zone. Photo sensors do not directly control light levels butrather are connected to the ENCELIUM GreenBus II network and providelight level information to the ECU. The ECU then determines what actionto take based on the status signals from the sensors.Each ECU has two Ethernet connections. One connection is forcommunication with other ECUs and the SSU on the ENCELIUM Network.The second ethernet connection can be used for communication witha facility’s or tenant Local Area Network (LAN) to allow secureFLOOR 1ENCELIUM Polaris 3DSystem ArchitectureThis illustration shows how each component is easily integrated into the ENCELIUM EnergyManagement System (EMS). ENCELIUM GreenBus II is a two-wire communication topology forsupplying data and power to the system. Each light fixture, sensor, and wall controller is daisychainedback to the Energy Control Unit (ECU) using pre-terminated ‘click & go’ ENCELIUMGreenBus II communication cabling. ECUs typically control individual floors and are linked viaan Ethernet Network. Internet or LAN connection allows floor plan based control software tobe operated anywhere on the network.
