Stopping—Scenario 4Level Grade Slack Bunched Throttle ReductionAscending Grade Slack Stretched Throttle ModulationDescending GradeDirection of Travel1.00% 1.00%When stopping under these conditions using the throttle reductionmethod:1. Gradually reduce the throttle one notch at a time.2. Maintain a slack stretched condition <strong>and</strong> allow the ascendinggrade to slow the train.3. When the train stalls, place the independent brake in FULLAPPLICATION.4.
