62 Operating Locomotive Equipment62.2.5 Locomotive Inspection For Suneel Unit Coal<strong>Train</strong>sLocomotive daily inspections on Suneel unit coal trains are performedas follows:1. Mechanical personnel inspect the locomotives on the Sundaybefore each week’s trips.2. At Healy, the engineer who loads the train performs the locomotivedaily inspection for that consist.3. At Seward, the outbound engineer or the engineer who dumpsthe train arranges for the consist to be inspected.4. When the consist arrives in Anchorage from either Healy orSeward, the inbound engineer delivers the Locomotive DailyInspection <strong>and</strong> Trip Report to the crew dispatcher’s office, whereit is picked up by Mechanical personnel.62.2.6 Perform the Daily InspectionInspect the locomotive for non-complying conditions <strong>and</strong> observethe following items. If the items are operational, they must befunctioning properly to be in compliance.Inspect these three general areas of each locomotive:A. Control Compartment Of Locomotive CabMake sure that:1. Each air gauge registers correctly <strong>and</strong> within 3 psi of the requiredpressure (see Table 62-A on page 62-17).2. The locomotive cab is free of stumbling <strong>and</strong> tripping hazards.3. Cab windows of the lead locomotive provide a clear view.4.
