68 EOT Telemetry Devices4. Connect the air hose to the brake pipe, <strong>and</strong> open the angle cockslowly.5. Press the TEST button to check that the EOT unit is operational(see Rule 68.2.3).Before removing the EOT, slowly close theangle cock <strong>and</strong> push the bleeder valve buttonon the glad-h<strong>and</strong> to bleed air pressure fromthe EOT hose.68.2.2 Setting the Correct EOT ID Code NumberOnce the EOT is installed properly, make sure its ID code numbermatches the ID code thumbwheel switch on the LCU. If you set anincorrect ID code, the LCU will reject all messages from the EOT<strong>and</strong> the EOT will not receive messages from the LCU. Also seeRule 68.3.3, LCU Code Selection/Input.68.2.3 Checking the Operation of the EOT UnitTo check the operation of the EOT:1. Press the TEST button on the EOT <strong>and</strong>:a. Make sure the EOT displays these functions:• Digital readout of the EOT software version number—VX.X• Battery charge units—C XXXNOTE: The number will be between 0 <strong>and</strong> 100 <strong>and</strong>represents the percent of battery charge used.
