66 Locomotive Equipment <strong>and</strong> Components66.5.1 Slowing <strong>Train</strong> During Warning Period <strong>and</strong>Recovering Overspeed ControlFollow these steps to slow the train during a warning period <strong>and</strong>recover overspeed control:• Slow the train when the safety control device sounds a warning.or• Recover when the overspeed control applies the train brakes bymoving the automatic brake h<strong>and</strong>le to SUPPRESSION.66.6 Resetting the PCS After EmergencyBrake ApplicationTo reset the PCS after the emergency brake applies:1. Move the automatic brake valve to EMERGENCY.2. Move the throttle to IDLE.3. Wait 60 seconds.4. After the train stops, release the brakes <strong>and</strong> reset the PCS bymoving the automatic brake h<strong>and</strong>le to RELEASE.66.7 <strong>Air</strong> Flow MeterThe air flow meter measures the rate in cubic feet per minute (CFM)that air flows into the brake pipe.
