Position for creating maximum locomotivebrake cylinder pressure from the independent brake system.When the locomotive is left st<strong>and</strong>ing, move the independentbrake h<strong>and</strong>le into the notch at the far right to retain the h<strong>and</strong>le inFULL APPLICATION.ACTUATE. Releases the automatic brake application on the locomotive.Release all brake cylinder pressure by depressing theindependent brake h<strong>and</strong>le while it is in RELEASE.NOTE: The independent brake may be applied <strong>and</strong> an automaticbrake application released by:• Moving the independent brake h<strong>and</strong>le to the desiredposition in the APPLICATION ZONE.• Depressing the independent brake h<strong>and</strong>le (ACTUATE).66.2 Automatic Brake Valve Cutout ValveThe automatic brake valve cutout valve determines when <strong>and</strong> howthe automatic brake controls brake pipe pressure.
