Thisguide offers information on more than 200,000acres of land managed by ACA or our partnerconservation organizations. We hope that thisguide will entice individuals and families touncover the recreational possibilities at theseconservation sites, thereby increasing awarenessof the importance and value of conservinghabitat for the future. The lands identified in thisguide are either private lands owned by ACA orits conservation partners, or public lands that aremanaged by ACA on behalf of the Crown; all areavailable for public use.This guide is separated into four regions basedon geographic area: East Slopes, Northeast,Northwest and South. The regional boundariescan be found on the provincial map located onpage 3. Each conservation site within the regionis identified by a number on the map whichcorresponds to written information providedwithin the guide. For each conservation site, thefollowing information is provided: a generaldescription of the conservation site, an overviewof the habitat and wildlife that you can expect tosee, a list of any restrictions placed on the sitewith respect to access or activities, a list ofpartners involved in the purchase ormanagement of the site and the legal landlocation.The majority of conservation sites listedrequire no permission to access and allow allnon-motorized recreational activitiesincluding: hunting, fishing, hiking, birdwatching, and photography. However, pleasebe aware that some conservation sites listeddo have restrictions on allowed activitiesand/or require permission before you enteronto the site. Turn northinto the town of Beaumont and take the first left(west) at 43 Ave. Follow the signs past the highschool to the Four Seasons Park. Approximately3,000 rainbow trout are released between April 15and May 16 at this site to enhance anglingopportunities.Restrictions: Refer to the <strong>Alberta</strong> Guide toSportfishing Regulations. Release dates areweather dependant.Partners: ACA, ASRDNE5Battle River RidgeProperty Details: This property is locatedapproximately 18 km north of Wainwright. TakeHighway 41 north for 17 km and then turn east for1 km. The property is located south of the maincounty road that runs along the northern side ofthe quarter. This property is typical of aspenparkland with forested areas, coulees and nativerange. Wildlife found in the area includes whitetailedand mule deer, moose, grouse and a varietyof small mammals and songbirds.Restrictions: Day use only.
