Shkodra free zone

- The customs
paradise of a free zone prioritises the regional
integration and augments both state and local revenues
Under the status of a free zone, Shkoder and its region will
develop the trade, increase the production activity and strengthen
the
economy contributing to keeping up with the living standards
of the
neighbouring countries, especially those that have begun to receive
the fruits of this economic strategy. The free
zone status will grant
the
city the proper economic prestige to embark on the regional
integration and assimilate, as much as possible, the tangible effects
of the economic globalisation.
The forecasted economic prosperity of
Shkoder,
as a free zone encourages the ties with the Republic of
Montenegro, which over the past 5 years, has progressed due to the
initiative and understating of our two close countries. (It is the time
that we revitalise the border agreements entered into in the 30's and
institutionalise all the necessary ties to fill the elements of the
integration, each time stronger, with this neighbour country).
The free zone advantage from the creation of new jobs, by
engaging the workforce and the intellectual potential, raises income
levels. By employing 60% of the unemployed, the national revenues,
provided by Shkoder City, would rise $ 5,7 million annually. Both
the central and the local budget will also benefit from the taxes: on
personal income
of both nationals and foreign residents, rentals,
supply
of domestic materials and goods, delivery of various services;
the transportation tax.
