Ubisense Series 7000 IP SensorsPrecision ultra-wideband measurement devices for industrial environmentsAccuracyBy using UWB technology, the system’s location accuracy ismaintained even in cluttered, multipath-rich indoorenvironments. The Ubisense UWB location system is the onlyone capable of measuring both Angle-of-Arrival (AoA) andTime-Difference-of-Arrival (TDoA) of tag signals, enabling it togenerate accurate 3D tracking information even when only twosensors can detect the tag. This reduces the infrastructurerequirements for an installation, minimizing costs whilstdramatically improving the reliability and robustness of thesystem.Real-time responsivenessEach sensor is capable of sustaining a continuous update rateof up to 134Hz, meaning a tag location can be provided every7.5ms from each sensor or cell.Two-way communicationsUbisense Series 7000 IP sensors also support two-waycontrol and telemetry communications with Ubisense tagsover a conventional bi-directional 2.4GHz radio. The sensor’stwo-way communication capability allows the Ubisensesystem to dynamically manage the update rate of tags in thesystem, send feedback to users via tag’s LEDs, query tagbattery status information and button press actions, andwirelessly reprogram tags to enable new features.Ease of maintenanceSensors are administered remotely over the Ethernet network.Firmware is downloaded into the sensors over the networkallowing them to be easily upgraded when new featuresbecome available.IP rated sensor variantsThere are three variants of the IP rated Series 7000 sensor -IP30, IP54 and IP65. These have been designed for a varietyof both indoor or outdoor scenarios and engineered to operatein both normal and extremely harsh industrial environments.Below is a summary of the different environmental installationscenarios suited to each IP rated sensor:The IP30 rated sensor is intended for normal indoor operationwhere a standard level of protection against water and dust isrequired.The IP54 rated sensor can be used for normal indoor oroutdoor operation. It has a backing plate on the rear of thesensor and has two self-adhesive brushes which are housedat the base of sensor to prevent water and dust from enteringthe sensor housing via the cable entry points.The IP65 rated sensor has been designed for extreme outdooroperation in harsh industrial environments requiring protectionnot only against water and dust but also high winds, heat andcold.
