DISPENSINGDispense SystemsLOCTITE ® DIGITAL SYRINGE DISPENSING SYSTEM Item Number: 883976The Loctite® Digital Syringe Dispenser is a semi-automatic dispensing system designed to dispenseadhesives and fluids packaged in 3, 5, 10, 30, and 55 syringes and 300 ml cartridges. The unit hasdigital timing control with decimal settings to 0.001 seconds for increased precision over typicalpressure-time systems. An adjustable pressure regulator controls a pulse of air, and when used inconjunctions with an air line adapter attached to an adhesive syringe barrel, will provide acontrolled dispensed amount of adhesive. The system can be operated in the manual, incremental,or timed (automatic) dispense mode to dispense dots, beads or to fill syringes.Features:• Vacuum suck-back can effectively control productdripping or stringing• Manual, Incremental, and Timed modes allowa choice of adhesive dispensing methods• Convenient “teach mode” to set time requiredfor desired dispense amount or volume• Cycle counter is clearly displayed in the LCD screen• The unit can be integrated into customer’s PLCprogramming to initiate a dispense cycle• Units can be stacked securely to save workspaceTheory of OperationThe system is a pressure-time-vacuum dispense system. Itconsists of an air regulator and pressure gauge to controlpressure, and an electrical timing circuit to control the dispensecycle. When the dispense cycle is initiated, a pulse of air, eithertimed or manually controlled, is transmitted to the top of thesyringe barrel via an air line adapter. The amount of productdispensed is controlled by the amount of pressure applied to theproduct, the length of the dispense cycle, the size of thedispense needle, product viscosity, and temperature.Power SupplyAir SupplyPressure RegulatorProduct ViscosityDispense Time RangeDimensionsWeightUsed to DispensePackage Types & SizesParts IncludedAdditional AirLine Adapters(Available for syringedispensing, see page 83.)TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONSUniversal Power Supply 110/230 VAC; 50/60 Hz35 to 100 psi, 1 ⁄4" FNPT0 to 100 psiLow to Paste0.020 to 99.999 seconds6.0" W x 7.1875" H x 7.6875" D2.6 lbs.G, IA, LCD, RC, TL3 ml, 5 ml, 10 ml, 30 ml and 55 ml syringes / 300 ml cartridges(1) Digital Syringe Dispenser with Universal Power Cord(1) Foot Switch with Cord Lock (1) Manual(1) 10 ml & (1) 30 ml Syringe Adapter (1) Syringe Stand(1) 6 mm OD air line x 6 ft. It is designed as a floor unit to eliminate the need for bench space. The unit is capable of dispensing dots, drops or beads of fluids ranging from medium viscosity liquidsto high viscosity pastes. The dispense cycle is controlledby a manual foot pedal and an adjustable pressure regulator.TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONSItem 98050 includes a suck-back feature to prevent drippingAir Input60 to 100 psiwhen dispensing low viscosity fluids.Air Output20 to 100 psiFeatures:• Simple hands-free operation• Adjustable pressure regulator, 20 to 100 psi• Easy-to-read pressure gauge• Available vacuum suck-back,1 to 15 in. Hg, toprevent dripping• Designed as floor unit toeliminate the need forbench spaceTheory of OperationWhen the foot pedal is actuated, a pulse of air is transmittedthrough an air line adapter (sold separately) to the top of thesyringe barrel, pushing a controlled amount of material out ofthe dispense tip. The amount of product dispensed is controlledby the amount of air pressure applied to the product, the lengthof time the foot switch is depressed, the size of the dispense tip,the product viscosity, and the temperature.Product ViscosityLow to PasteVacuum Suck-Back 98049: No 98050: 1 to 15 in. THREAD SEALANT & ANAEROBIC GASKETING DELIVERY SYSTEMSLOCTITE ® DIAL-A-SEAL ® APPLICATORItem Number: 998400The Loctite® Dial- A - Seal® Applicator is a touch actuated, all-pneumatic applicatorfor dispensing high viscosity Loctite® product onto threaded pipe fittings andnipples. The system has a quick turn turret that is equipped with cavities for1 ⁄16, 1 ⁄8, 1 ⁄4, 3 ⁄8, 1 ⁄ 2, 3 ⁄4 and 1 inch male pipe threads. The unit accepts 50 ml or250 ml tubes or 1 liter wide mouth bottles. The product dispense quantity canbe adjusted with a rear adjustment knob. The upper limit per dispense cycle is0.7 ml. It is recommended specifically for applying Loctite® PST® Thread Sealants,Loctite® Vibra-Seal®, and Loctite® Anti-Seize products.Features:• Applicator is fed directly from a 50 ml tube,250 ml tube, or one liter bottle• A quick turn turret is equipped with cavities for1 ⁄16, 1 ⁄8, 1 ⁄4, 3 ⁄8, 1 ⁄2, 3 ⁄4 and 1" male pipe threads• Up to 0.7 ml of product can be dispensed per shot• Adjustable dispense volume• Suggested settings for each diameter fittingare pre-printed on unitTheory of OperationA turret head with a cavity for each size of pipe thread isattached to the output of an air actuated, positive displacementpump. The operator presses a fitting down into the correctcavity. The downward motion of the turret depresses a switchthat actuates the pump. A pneumatically-driven, reciprocating, positivedisplacement piston pump provides for consistent dispensing andensures that air is not introduced into the product. This system iswell suited for stationary or bead dispensing. The Loctite® PoppetValve is also included and is ideal for dispensing continuous beadsat high pressures.Features:• Air piloted control signal initiates dispensing• Air-driven, reciprocating, positive displacement piston pump• Poppet-type dispensing valvecan be mounted onto a robotic arm• Anti-drip feature• Capable of dispensing 0.5 cc per second• Visual signal will indicate “Product Cartridge Empty”• Easily integrated into robotic dispensing stationsTheory of OperationA full cartridge of material is loaded into the system and theunit is switched to operate mode. Upon demand for dispensing,i.e., pneumatic signal, material is fed from the cartridge to anoscillating pump where the pressure is elevated to greater than650 psi. Material is forced through a high-pressure hose to thedispense valve where it is dispensed onto the part.TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONSAir InputAll-pneumatic system, 60 to 100 psi, filtered to 40 micronsProduct ViscosityMedium to HighCompatible MaterialsLoctite ® brand de-aerated anaerobic gasketingmaterials up to 1,000,000 cP viscosityPumping Rate0.5 cc per secondDimensions16.3" H x 37.2" W x 9.3" DWeight80 lbs.Used to DispenseLoctite ® Gasket Eliminator ® and otherLoctite ® brand Flange SealantsPackage Types & Sizes850 ml cartridgesParts Included(1) Pump-A-Bead II (1) Poppet Valve Applicator(1) ManualAdditional Information For Spare Parts and Accessories, see page 84.For additional information and the full line of equipment, visit www.equipment.loctite.com.13
