Wand SystemsLIGHT CURELOCTITE ® INDIGO 7720 VISIBLE LIGHT WAND SYSTEMItem Number: 98633The Loctite® Indigo 7720 Visible Light Wand Curing System provides effective curing for larger bead sizes of our new Loctite®Indigo visible light curing adhesives. This curing system utilizes a 100 watt, fully visible metal halide lamp system and providesup to 1.5 W/cm 2 of visible light curing intensity. The system is designed to be constantly powered, providing for effectivecontinuous duty service. This light source uses a long life fiber optic light guide that significantly outlasts liquid-filled lightguides. The light guide is required and sold separately.Features:• Output exceeds 1 W/cm 2 for up to 3 ⁄4" diameter cure areas• Long life fiber optic light guide significantly outlasts liquid-filled light guides• Light guide is highly flexible and enhances ability to reach tough location cure areas• Contains a 100 watt, visible arc bulb that provides up to 2 times longer life than typical UV bulbs• Emits light only in the visible light range• Constant-on functionality ensures effective, continuous duty serviceTheory of OperationWhen the unit is switched on, electrical power is immediatelysupplied to the lamp. It takes 3 to 5 minutes for the metal halidelamp to come up to full power. A fiber optic light guide, soldseparately, is also required and inserted into the lamp irisopening. The light guide focuses the lamp intensity down to aspecific diameter and provides the operator convenient andeffective control of curing visible adhesive joints up to 1" diameter.The lamp system is designed to stay continuously on so thereis no need for further on/off activation.INTENSITY VS. LOCTITE ® ZETA ® 7735 UV WAND SYSTEMSItem Numbers: 98317A and 958216The Loctite® ZETA® 7735 UV Wand Systems utilize a 50 watt mercury arc lamp with a universal power supply. The state-of-the-artlamp with elliptical reflector and custom coating delivers unequaled spectral and optical performance in the 50 watt category.These wand systems bridge the gap between low intensity and high intensity spot curing products. They are ideally suited for themedium to low intensity requirements of the photo-optics and audiology industries. Other common uses are fillet curing, wiretacking, and shallow potting. The system can be operated manually or in the timed mode and is capable of interfacing with a PLC.Continuous lamp intensity monitoring is also available by selecting item 958216 and the requiredLight Intensity Monitor item 891494. The light guides are also sold separately fromthe base units. Light guide choices are highlighted below.Features:• 5 to 7 W/cm 2 UV output• 50 watt high pressure mercury arc lamp• 2,000 hours of expected UV lamp life withproper handling and maintenance• Manual or timed shutter light exposure, 0 to 99.9 seconds• Hour meter for monitoring accumulated lamp life• Selector switch for either 110 or 230 VACAdditional Features for Item 958216 when used in conjunction with 891494• LED control display highlights relative intensitychanges in 10% increments• Minimum required intensity can be programmed for a warningor integrated to PLC for external alarm or shutdown conditionLIGHT CURE Wand SystemsTheory of OperationWhen the unit is switched on, the proper electrical power is immediately supplied to the lamp. It will take approximately fiveminutes for the lamp to reach full power. Once the lamp has reached full power, the unit is ready to cure adhesive. The operator willpresent the part under the end of the UV light guide. Curing will take place when the UV light is directed at the liquid adhesive.Engaging the foot switch opens the shutter and UV energy produced by the lamp is immediately transmitted through the flexiblelight guide.
