Under the structure of the <strong>REACH</strong> Regulation, Walsin is a manufacturer of “articles” toour EU customers(according to ECHA’s guidance for articles, the electronic componentsshall be considered as articles). We do not manufacture “substances” or “preparations” andour articles do not involve the “intentional release of substances”. Accordingly, we foreseeno registration or pre-registration or Authorization requirement for the products we supplied.2. With regard to the requirements of Article 33 of <strong>REACH</strong>: Duty to communicateinformation on substances in articles. We declare that none of the SVHCs (the CandidateList of Substances of Very High Concern for authorization currently released by ECHA tillthe date of June 2012, please refer to annex 1 ) is present in WALSIN’s products (and alsopackage) in quantities totaling in a concentration equal or above 0.1%.3. With regard to the requirement of Article 67 of <strong>REACH</strong>: A substance on its own, in apreparation or in an article, for which Annex XVII, contains a restriction shall not bemanufactured, placed on the market or used unless it complies with the conditions of thatrestriction.
