Racing (X)-Bindings<br />

Certain binding models are produced by TYROLIA<br />

each year for the exclusive use of qualified competitors<br />

under the supervision of TYROLIA <strong>Technical</strong><br />

Specialists. These bindings are not covered by<br />

either the TYROLIA Warranty or any Dealer<br />

Indemnity Program. We recommend you decline<br />

to service them, and warn against their use.<br />

DIN settings ≥10 do not satisfy the standard. Protection<br />

assertions are not applicable. Adjustments<br />

exceeding this range are made on one’s own risk.<br />

Cleaning and Lubricating<br />

Ski bindings need regular maintenance. Proper<br />

function is no longer assured if this procedure is<br />

not followed periodically.<br />

• Please use only TYROLIA recommended<br />

lubrication:<br />

TYROLIA grease – 160 052<br />

TYROLIA service – grease- spray – 162 779<br />

Both have the same content, but the grease<br />

tube is for more precise lubrication and the spray<br />

is suited for spots which are hard to reach with<br />

the tube.<br />

• Clean the surfaces with a dry rag or warm water<br />

and mild soap.<br />

• Avoid any contact with aggressive solvents or<br />

degreasers!<br />

• Don’t use cleansers!<br />

• High pressure cleaning is not recommended. It<br />

might have the negative side effect of washing<br />

away the lubricating films.<br />

Lubricating the Toe piece<br />

AERO toe<br />

• Lubricate the adjustment screw and the guides<br />

of the main spring in the housing with the<br />

TYROLIA service – grease spray.<br />

All SYMPRO/SP toe<br />

• In case of friction in the track system: Mark the<br />

toe position, open the SP hand lever and slide<br />

the toe piece off.<br />

• Dry clean the track and the toe guide base<br />

gently using a plastic brush.<br />

• Then lubricate the locking mechanism at both<br />

sides of the toe guide base.<br />

• Lubricate also both sides of the track guide<br />

over the entire length.<br />

Lubricating the Heel<br />

All Rental bindings<br />

• Mark heel position, open the hand lever and<br />

slide the heel off backwards. At the SR 100 and<br />

SR 70 the guide lock has to be opened with a<br />

screwdriver (pict 61) to get the binding off.<br />

Lubricate<br />

• the edge of the release cam under the heel lug<br />

as shown in pict 62.
