Prerequisites: Ge. 1,3,5,7.<br />
Modes <strong>of</strong> occurrence, distribution, and origin <strong>of</strong> the principal nonmetallic<br />
mineral products, including mineral fuels, building materials, etc.<br />
Text: Not prescribed, but Ries' Economic Geology or an equivalent<br />
text will be found useful.<br />
Ge. 197 a, b. ADVANCED ECONOMIC GEOLOGY. 8 units; second and<br />
third terms.<br />
Prerequisites: Ge. 195, 196.<br />
A more thorough and comprehensive study <strong>of</strong> some <strong>of</strong> the important<br />
mineral deposits <strong>of</strong> the world than is practicable in courses 195 and 196.<br />
Particular attention will be given to deposits in the western United<br />
States, Mexico, and Africa.<br />
