We are wait<strong>in</strong>g for commentsfrom the plann<strong>in</strong>g group prior to review<strong>in</strong>g.Lilydale Action CommitteeThe March 8 th evacuation of the plant due to an ammonialeak was of concern to the committee, especially as the affectedresidents and nearby schools were not advised of this issue.We have been advised that there are relatively few formalcompla<strong>in</strong>ts regard<strong>in</strong>g operations of the facility. In order to beeffective, community concerns must go through appropriatechannels. Compla<strong>in</strong>ts need to be directed to the appropriatebody regulat<strong>in</strong>g the operations. E-mails and telephone calls tothe Alderman’s office are not an effective or appropriate wayto lodge a compla<strong>in</strong>t. Concerns regard<strong>in</strong>g Lilydale operations(smells, noise, debris) can be reported to the CHR automatedsystem at 943-8060. The community association will beassign<strong>in</strong>g a contact person to report the noxious odours onSundays to an <strong>in</strong>spector who can respond on the weekend. Fornoise issues and chicken parts found <strong>in</strong> the community call311. Odours from the facility should cont<strong>in</strong>ue to be reportedto Alberta Environment 1-800-222-6514.Volunteer AppreciationThank you to all the volunteers who cont<strong>in</strong>ue to work tirelesslyon behalf of their neighbours.Civic Affairs meet<strong>in</strong>gs are usually held on Thursdays, 7PM atthe community hall on an as-needed basis. We welcome newmembers and are always happy to review development proposalsprior to plans be<strong>in</strong>g submitted to the City.
