We are waiting for commentsfrom the planning group prior to reviewing.Lilydale Action CommitteeThe March 8 th evacuation of the plant due to an ammonialeak was of concern to the committee, especially as the affectedresidents and nearby schools were not advised of this issue.We have been advised that there are relatively few formalcomplaints regarding operations of the facility. In order to beeffective, community concerns must go through appropriatechannels. Complaints need to be directed to the appropriatebody regulating the operations. E-mails and telephone calls tothe Alderman’s office are not an effective or appropriate wayto lodge a complaint. Concerns regarding Lilydale operations(smells, noise, debris) can be reported to the CHR automatedsystem at 943-8060. The community association will beassigning a contact person to report the noxious odours onSundays to an inspector who can respond on the weekend. Fornoise issues and chicken parts found in the community call311. Odours from the facility should continue to be reportedto Alberta Environment 1-800-222-6514.Volunteer AppreciationThank you to all the volunteers who continue to work tirelesslyon behalf of their neighbours.Civic Affairs meetings are usually held on Thursdays, 7PM atthe community hall on an as-needed basis.
