This structure allows the following:• An analysis of overall communications.• An overall view of slave status.• An indication of whether diagnosis is present on a slave.• The ability to identify the slave where diagnosis is present. This is used to start anexplicit reading of the detailed diagnosis of this slave, using DFB block“PROFIBUS_DIAG_REQ”.• The transfer of the reading’s result to the analysis block from the standarddiagnosis “PROFIBUS_STD_DIAG_HILITE” in order to obtain the detaileddiagnosis.The example below illustrates the reading and analysis mechanism of the slavediagnosis. The analysis of the status word <strong>Profibus</strong>_Channel.STS_243 (see arrow onthe screen capture) gives the number of the last slave which generated a diagnosis.The number of this slave is then read by PROFIBUS_DIAG_REQ. The result of thereading is interpreted by the PROFIBUS_STD_DIAG_HILITE block.90
