Master ConfigurationOnce the device addresses have been defined, it is necessary to configure theProfibus DP / PA master. The software tools used in this architecture are:• SyCon for the PBY100 module• Prosoft Configuration Builder for PTQPDMV1 and 5204-MnetTo understand the required characteristics (parameter setting, data reading/writing,etc.) of the equipment, the software configuration must import a GSD file. This is asimple text file that corresponds to the Material Data Sheet provided by theequipment manufacturer. This file is usually provided with the equipment, or isdownloadable from the manufacturer's website. Among the information contained inthe GSD file are the following items:- Product review information- Seller name- Model type- Revision- Profibus organization ID- Protocols supported- Transmission speeds supported- Type of master supportedBelow is an example of a GSD file for DELTABAR S equipment:56
PLC ConfigurationIn order to interact properly with the equipment, the PLC must understand the data itwill exchange with it.• For PTQPDMV1: create a Quantum UnityPro application with the PTQPDMV1module in the configuration, then import the XSY file generated by ProsoftConfiguration Builder. The application will set the variables for each device in theform of a data structure. The exchange of data between the CPU module andProfibus DP is through the bus to the PLC.• For PBY100: create a Premium UnityPro application with a PBY100 module in theconfiguration, then use UnityPro to import a CNF file generated by SyCon. ThePLC will use topological variables (IW% or% QW). The exchange of databetween the CPU and PBY100 module is through the bus to the controller.• For 5204-Mnet module: create an application with an Ethernet module thatsupports I/O scanning service in the UnityPro configuration, then select the zonesshared between the controller and module 5204-NET. The PLC data are locatedin % MW. The exchange of data between the CPU module and the 5204-Mnet isthrough the Ethernet network via the I/O scanning mechanism.Asset Management SoftwareThe asset management software can set the various devices connected on the busthrough the class II master bus.
