Centralized Architecture, Quantum with PTQ modulePlant assetmanagementSCADAEthernetQuantum + PTQ DPV1<strong>Profibus</strong> DPSK3Junctionboxe<strong>Profibus</strong> PAI/OThis Quantum based architecture uses a DP V1 communication adapter, specificallya PTQ-PDPMV1. The PTQ module has one PROFIBUS DP (master) port, and aseparate Ethernet TCP/IP communication port.In addition to its PROFIBUS Master capability, the PTQ-PDPMV1 also embeds anEthernet to PROFIBUS gateway. As a result, Asset Management communicationframes, received on the module's Ethernet port are automatically routed, in atransparent manner, to the PROFIBUS DP port.This architecture thus guarantees a direct access to instrumentation devices, allowingconfiguration, diagnostics, and calibration from asset management tools.The architecture is compatible with a Quantum Hot Standby configuration providingmany available solutions for process control architecture.The PTQ-PDPMV1 module Ethernet port does not handle Modbus TCP protocol.Separate Ethernet access (either via a CPU module local Ethernet port, or via oneadditional Quantum Ethernet communication module, such as a 140 NOE 771 01) isrequired for SCADA communication.A Peppers + Fuchs SK3 DP/PA segment coupler is used to connect the 4 sensors.Prosoft Configuration Builder software. is required to configure the <strong>Profibus</strong> PTQmodule.35
