• There is one resident and 3 interns until the Spring,
when the team becomes 4 interns.
• Teaching rounds are with a separate CCU attending and
are often daily M-F based on the attending’s preference.
Clinic:
• ½ Day per week on your assigned day
• No clinic during ER month
• No clinic when you are post-call
• If clinic patients are admitted to the hospital, they will be
admitted by teaching, and stay on that team unless the
primary clinic intern/resident is on wards, and then they
will transfer to that service in the am.

Vacation:
• 3 weeks total per year. Can be taken as 2 weeks and 1
week or 1 week at a time.
• Cannot be taken during ward, CCU, or float months
(thus you can use it during electives or ER)
• Turn in a form ahead of time (6 weeks if possible). Pick
up a request from Suzanne. She will fax it to the clinic so
they block out your clinic schedule for that time. See
vacation policy/request.
• Maternity leave is 6 weeks. You can combine it with your
vacation for that year for a total of 9 weeks. The caveat is
that you cannot exceed 12 weeks total off during your
residency per the ABIM.
• Paternity leave is 2 weeks.
• Vacation does not roll over from year to year. What you
don’t take is lost.
