EX-GRATIAEX-GRATIA- Ex-Gratia is given to the family membersof the deceased.* The Ex-gratia payment is not disbursed to a minordependent of the deceased Government employee and itis got fixed in Fix Deposit for such period till the minorattains majority. Under this scheme, the minor is paidinterest at the prevailing rates.

The Ex-Gratia payment of the minor dependent will bedeposited with Haryana Cooperative Bank under the‘Money Multiple Scheme’, so that money becomedouble after six years subject to the condition that theamount will be deposited in multiple of Rupees OneThousand (Rs. 1000/-), if the amount ex-gratia of aminor dependent exceed multiple of Rs. 1000/- thesame will be deposited in FDR Accounts as is beingdone at present.

The maximum amount given to the dependent ofdeceased persons is Rs. 25000/-. This grant is given toassist the dependent members of the destitute familyof deceased Government employee at such a criticaljuncture.* The State Government on the recommendation of* The State Government on the recommendation ofAdministrative Secretaries have decided to delegatethe financial powers in the matter of all the Head ofDepartments in order to avoid delay in makingpayment to the dependents of the destitute family of adeceased of Government employees at a criticaljuncture.

PROCEDURE OF PASSING OF EX-GRATIA• Sanction (by the HOD) will be issued as per specimenenclosed for guidance after completion of allformalities as were here to fore being done by theDepartments.• Bills will be prepared by the D.D.O’s office on theproforma S.T.R. 23 prescribed for detailed pay bills ofthe permanent Establishment etc.• Payments will be made to the concerned familymember/members of the deceased by means of BankDrafts drawn at the State Bank of India after gettingthe said bills passed from the Treasury concerned.

• The amount to be paid to the minor children of thedeceased Govt. employees will remain with D.D.O. inthe form of F.D.R. got prepared from Haryana StateCooperative Bank by writing to the Bank as perspecimen enclosed. Period of each F.D.R. will dependupon the age of minors which will mature for paymentafter the minor (male/female) becomes major i.e.attains the age of 18 years. Where there are more thatone minor, F.D.R. will be prepared of equal amount inrespect of each of the minors in equal distribution. Acopy of Govt. instructions regarding this, is alsoenclosed.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO THE FAMILY OFDECEASED EMPLOYEE A person who dies before 35 year of age his/her familywill get financial assistance for 15 years. A person who dies between 35 year of age and 48 yearsof age will get financial assistance for 12 years. A person who dies after 48 years of age will getfinancial assistance for 7 years.

CALCULATION OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCEThe family member of the deceased will get followingemoluments: Basic Pay Grade Pay D.A. Medical Allowance* HRA NOT APPLICABLE
