THE LAKE CHAMPLAIN APPALOOSA CLUBThe Lake Champlain Appaloosa Club is open to anyone with aninterest in equines. We welcome equestrians of all disciplinesand all breeds of horses. The LCAC offers a Saddle Log &Driving Log Program open to all breeds of horses. We alsohost trail rides throughout the year. In our effort to promote theAppaloosa horse we hold a nationally pointed Appaloosa breedshow and offer both Regional year awards as well as awards toAppaloosas that compete in open shows (holding classes thatare pointed with LCAC) in our area. We also attend variousequine functions to promote the Appaloosa.* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *The object of keeping points & awarding Year End Awards(from classes pointed with LCAC & held at local shows) is topromote the Appaloosa horse in open competition.1. A High Point, Reserve High Point, and third through sixthplace award will be offered in each of eight divisions.2. Year End Awards will be offered in the following eightdivisions: Appaloosa Halter, Appaloosa English Pleasure,Appaloosa Western Pleasure, Appaloosa Youth Equitation,Western Pleasure 13 & Under, Western Pleasure 14-18,English Pleasure 13 & Under, English Pleasure 14-18.3. A member of the point committee will collect and keep trackof points from each show pointed by LCAC.4. Rider and owner of the horse must be LCAC member for thepoints to count. Family members include: father, mother &children under 18 yrs. (all ages are as of Jan. 1 of the calendaryear). Memberships must be paid before classes can counttoward points.5. Horse must have regular or CPO Appaloosa Horse Clubpapers for points to count.6. Appaloosa Halter: To be judged on type, conformation,action, substance, quality and manners.7. Appaloosa English Pleasure: To be judged on horse’s way ofgoing at the walk, trot & canter both ways of the ring. May beasked to back.8. Appaloosa Western Pleasure: To be judged on horse’s wayof going at the walk, jog & lope both ways of the ring. May beasked to back.9. Youth Pleasure classes will be pointed as to placing in openpointed Youth Pleasure classes & are not separate classes.11. Appaloosa Youth Equitation: Tack optional. To bejudged on the rider’s equitation at the walk, trot/jog &canter/lope. The PointKeeper will contact the chairperson of all shows to bepointed advising them that their show is to be pointedand the results to be sent to the point keeper. It is theresponsibility of the member to provide the informationon their horses to the point keeper.6.
