4.4 The inQbation Website Development Life CycleWe leverage the Scrum methodology, which basically entails breaking down large projects intosmaller, digestible sub-projects (or sprints), which can be designed and delivered over a periodof a few weeks. This helps us improve quality control and deliver more usable websites.inQbation deploys a structured method and approach to its web design and development lifecycle including the following project phases: Discovery, Design, Development and Deployment.DiscoveryDuring the Discovery phase, inQbation works with organizational stakeholders and decisionmakers to understand the organizational mission and target audience to ensure that the futurewebsite achieves the organization’s priorities, goals and statutory mandate.Deliverables include wire frames (story boards), use case scenarios, user acceptance test (UAT)plan, and a database model and site map that will act as an engineering plan for the futurewebsite content management system.Example wire frames (for ACUS.GOV):• http://www.inqbation.com/clients/ACUS/alpha-1.html• http://www.inqbation.com/clients/ACUS/charlie-1.html• http://www.inqbation.com/clients/ACUS/delta-1.html• http://www.inqbation.com/clients/ACUS/foxtrot-1.htmlDesignEnlightened by the Discovery process, particularly the wire frames, inQbation developsmockups of a proposed new design. We work closely with organizational stakeholders anddecision makers to analyze the merits of each design concept and create a revised conceptbased on the strengths and positive attributes of the first three mockups. We will assign one art director and three (3) designers to produce at least three (3) uniqueconceptual designs that are based on the approved wire frames. Once complete, they arepresented to the organization for review, analysis and feedback. We take this information backto our labs, select the concept that most closely matches the organization objectives, and applythe feedback to this single design concept and make revisions. This design, presentation, analysis, feedback and revision process repeats itself until the client is satisfied with the finalproduct.Once the design is approved, we continue to identify unique inside page templates and designthose. A similar design iteration cycle will occur with the inside page designs.Blake Newman, CEO, inQbation.com, Blake@inQbation.com, 703.999.1232, P.O.
