At the Rosarian AshramFr. General also paid a visit to the Rosarian Ashramand talked to the priests and the candidates. FatherGeneral also visited the tomb of Fr. B.A. ThomasOMI, the founder of the Rosarians, and prayed athis tomb.At the Centre for Peaceand Reconciliation (CPR)At the Ordination to thePriesthoodOn the 14 th afternoon, soon after the ordinationat St. Mary’s Cathedral, Fr. General also visitedthe Centre for Peace and Reconciliation (CPR).The director of the Institute, Fr. PraveenMaheshan OMI and his staff warmly welcomedFr. General. Fr. Director explained the types ofwork that CPR is undertaking in spite of possiblethreats and risks. Fr. General was very muchedified by the activities performed through thisinstitute especially among the victims of War,namely widows, widowers, parentless childrenand the destitutes. Fr. General, whileappreciating the work, also promised his fullestsupport to this type of work done by theOblates.On the 14 th morning, Rev. Bros. Robert RobinsonOMI and Christy Nirmalarajan OMI were ordainedpriests by His Lordship Rt. Rev. Dr. ThomasSavundaranayagam, the bishop of Jaffna at St.Mary’s Cathedral Jaffna. Fr. General concelebratedat the ordination liturgical ceremony. A largenumber of priests, religious, the parents and therelatives of the ordinandi and the lay faithfulparticipated at the Eucharist.
