I planned on buying possibly only two does and a youngbuck, but I ended up purchasing five does and a yearling buck. This buck was off the same farm as RobertSchmucker’s Bucky and Eddie Ray’s Thunder. They were all out of the same line of deer. I named the youngbuck Chief. He was not too bad for fourteen years ago, he was rather clean and scored possibly 190”. Realizingthat this was probably not going to be good enough, I went and bought a good young buck calledHumpy from Eddie Ray which had its antlers damaged. I then bred the last does to him and also a couple ofdoes to Chief. Humpy was heavy beamed with seven points on his good side and the other side was damaged, but he produced good and he did well. Humpy was out of a Pepsi II buck and Eddie Ray’s Patrick 112.From this first set of fawns I had a yearling that I called JR. I felt that he was going to be good. At thesametime Robert Schmucker’s Salt Lick Deer Farm had a buck that I liked that he called Dane. Dane was 3 yearsold and JR was 2 years old when we traded them, with JR going to Salt Lick Deer Farm and Dane who wasnice and wide coming to Whispering Pines.HugoHugoPine Creek ChopperHarley 251” @ 3 1/2Dane daughterIndian 174” @ 1 1/2DaneYellow 50White 44Yellow 0122RufusCherokeeLambright doeYellow 0171HossYellow 0114Yellow 50Comments: 3 1/2 year old doe bred to Hugo, a Domino son. 2011 Mid-America Invitational Whitetail Deer AuctionTimberview WhitetailsHarvey & William Schrock1726 CR 1575 ESullivan, IL 61951(217) 543-4011CWD 5 years TB Accred Bruc CertIn the spring of 2002 I bought my first deer and I bought one bred doe from Pin OakFarms with the intention of just doing it as a hobby. I thought if I could make enough off of it tocover my feed I would be doing fine. Several years later I got into it a bit more and then the yearafter I got a bit deeper into it yet. Ever since that we have been breeding for the big typical. Asnice and big of a typical as you can get. We bought a doe bred to Rold Gold and that’s about asnon typical as we have gone. Except for Prairie Beast. Most of what we have been breeding foris the big typical, not so much breeding for the score as for the look. The score comes second tous behind the look of a nice big typical, nice looking deer. One of the best programs that I have seen, one that I really like, is Fred Huebner’s. Wehave been breeding with some of his stuff and intend on breeding some more with it in thefuture.Watch for our future consignments. We have Amos offspring here , Auggie offspring, as well asThunderstorm and Lonestar. The children were playingout in the backyard and heard a noise in the cornfield. They went out to see what it was andfound a little fawn, it ran away. This happened three times. Then it came out in the pasture andlayed down. They caught it and took it in the house and gave it a bottle. When I got home fromwork, the children came running up to me and asked me if I could guess what they had in thehouse. When I went in I found this baby fawn in the bedroom beside the bed. That’s when westarted raising deer. We had that deer for about 3 months, it was a real good pet. Then one daya cement truck pulled into the driveway and it got spooked and ran into the fence and broke itsneck. We bought another buck and doe and went on from there.
