The heaviest snow fell in an area from Gage county northeast through the south and southeast portion of the Omahametropolitan area where 11-16 inches of snow fell. Inaddition, ice bridging was evident near the confluence of the Platte and Elkhorn rivers near Vencils Island. Most of the floodingoccurred on the west side of the Platte river. Demolition experts used dynamite to open up channels near Vencils Island andWoodcliff.
