VISMAX ® Polyamide Casings<br />
Product Characteristics<br />
VISMAX ® Polyamide Casings, from <strong>Viskase</strong>, are maximum<br />
performance casings for molded and formed processed meat and<br />
poultry applications. Casings are nominal 1.8 mils / 45 µ and tailored<br />
to maximize product yield and maximize shelf stability of sliced and<br />
retail items. Notable characteristics include a High Oxygen Barrier,<br />
which protects products against surface oxidation and discoloration<br />
and Moisture Barrier that virtually eliminates water migration.<br />
Characteristics<br />
Products are offered in nominal 14% for molded products and nominal 10% for D-shaped<br />
products. Depending on the application, most VISMAX ® casings can be used without<br />
presoaking.<br />

Storage & Handling<br />
VISMAX ® Polyamide Casings should be stored in a cool, dry place away from steam pipes, hot<br />
storage areas or direct sunlight. The recommended storage temperature is 40° - 75° F<br />
(4° - 24° C). Keep stock fresh by using the oldest stock first. Store cartons with product label<br />
showing. To avoid possible damage to casings, do not use sharp knives, instruments or hooks<br />
to open cartons.<br />
