SENIOR GRADESAll requirements must be metbefore <strong>West</strong> <strong>Ranch</strong> can certify astudent for graduation. <strong>Senior</strong>sfailing to meet graduationrequirements cannot participatein the graduation ceremony.Any senior failing a requiredcourse may make it up insummer school which startsMonday, July 5, 2011. Thediploma awarded will be for Julygraduation after a counselorverifies that all requirementshave been met. Summer schoolapplications are available in theCounseling Office.TRANSCRIPTS<strong>Senior</strong>s needing final officialtranscripts for any college oruniversity should submit awritten request with theRegistrar before graduation.This includes students who willbe attending College of theCanyons in the fall. <strong>Senior</strong> Celebration 2011May 19, 20118:00 pm - MidnightThe <strong>Senior</strong> Celebration includes a harborcruise, dinner, dancing, casino games andmore. <strong>Senior</strong> Celebration is open to the<strong>West</strong> <strong>Ranch</strong> Graduation Class of 2011.No guests, please!Transportation to the <strong>Senior</strong> Celebration willbe by school bus only. Students will checkinto the WR <strong>School</strong> Cafeteria Foyer no laterthan 7:00 pm and will return around 1:00 am.This event is free to <strong>Senior</strong> V.I.P. GRADUATION TICKETSTickets for the ceremony will be distributed atgraduation practice to all seniors who havepaid all financial obligations. Each graduatewill be allotted ten tickets. Tickets will beavailable at the end of graduation practice.GRADUATION CEREMONY 2011Expectations of Graduation ParticipantsGRADUATION PRACTICEMay 20, 2011, 8:30 am, College of the Canyons StadiumParticipation in the graduation practice is mandatory inorder to participate in the actual graduation ceremony.Students should arrive at the COC Stadium by 8:30 am,and proceed directly to the chairs on the field. Please sitin your assigned seat.Graduation is an important anddignified ceremony, which hassignificant meaning for thegraduating seniors, parents,families, and <strong>West</strong> <strong>Ranch</strong> schoolstaff. The ceremony signifies thesuccessful culmination of thirteenyears of education. In order toensure a graduation ceremony thatis meaningful to all, the followingis expected of all participants:Graduates are to be courteousduring the entire ceremony andare to refrain from any activitythat is disruptive, distracting,or dangerous. Please followdirections.Graduates are not to carryanything with them into theceremony. Caps and gownsmay not be altered or decoratedin any fashion.Any student who appears tobe under the influence ofalcohol or of any controlledsubstance will not be allowed toparticipate. In addition,smoking is not allowed at anytime before, during, or after theceremony.Graduates are to dressappropriately for a ceremony ofthis nature. Men should wearcollared shirts and slacks.Women should wear nicedresses or skirts and blouses, nodenim. Examples ofinappropriate dress are beach orsports clothing, thong-typesandals, jeans, and T-shirts.If a candidate for graduationviolates any of the abovebehavior standards, he/she willnot receive a diploma atgraduation and will be asked toleave the ceremony. Thestudent will be required toattend a parent conference withthe principal the week followinggraduation.REMINDER: Graduates mustattend commencement practice.All debts to the school must becleared in order to participate inthe ceremony and othergraduation-related activities.GRADUATIONCEREMONYMay 20, 2011, 7:30 pmCollege of the Canyons StadiumAll graduates are to report to theCOC Student Cafeteria at 6:00pm.
