Coach Blakley isvery committed to creating a team environment inwhich the Cross Country and Track and Field athletesexperience success academically as well as athletically.She is passionate about enabling Mount athletes achieve theirpersonal goals and is an advocate for educating athletes about crosstraining, nutrition, strength and conditioning and injury prevention.Coach Blakley partners with the Mount’s Strength and ConditioningDirector as well as the Athletic Training Department to ensure thateach athlete in her team’s programs have an overall balance in theirtraining and competition.Coach Blakley is an AFAA certified personal trainer and has helpeddirect many individual athletes and teams improve their performancethrough strength training programs. In addition, she has worked inthe fitness industry for over a dozen years and has a versatile trainingbackground. Her personal interests involve strength training andcompeting in multi-discipline endurance races, long distance runningand cycling.She is currently pursuing a degree in Sport Management at theMount and is on the Dean’s List. Coach Blakley resides in Bright, Ind.,with her family.<strong>2012</strong> Returning Runners’ ProfilesEmily HeylJunior • Major: Athletic TrainingHometown (High School): Cincinnati, OH (Seton)Heyl returns for her second season with the Mountafter a one-year layoff. She competed in 2010 forthe <strong>Lions</strong> but missed last fall due to an injury. HeadCoach Tina Blakley says Heyl, who has been rehabbingfor the past year, is able to practice and compete this season. Blakleyadds that Heyl looks ready and focused this fall to have a successful<strong>2012</strong> season. Emily is the daughter of Jane and David Heyl.Cyreesa RaberSenior • Major: NursingHometown (High School): West Chester, OH(Lakota East)Raber returns for her third season with the Mount.She raced in five of the team’s 2011 meets, turningin her top team placing (fourth) at the <strong>MSJ</strong>Invitational. Raber had her season-best time of 23:45 at the NationalCatholic Invitational, finishing at 23:45. Head Coach Tina Blakleysays that Raber, the team’s lone senior and the <strong>Lions</strong>’ 2011 HCACAll-Sportsmanship award winner, exhibits good leadership qualitiesand motivates her teammates. Blakley adds that Raber, who excelsacademically, has continued to improve her performance each yearand ran her fastest times during the 2011 campaign.
