He saw action in three of the <strong>Lions</strong>’ 2011meets, finishing with a personal-best time of 21:16at the 5K Queen City Invitational. Chicketti is alsoon the Mount’s track & field team. Head Coach Tina Blakley says thatChicketti has developed a good work ethic and continues to strive forexcellence both academically and athletically. Colton is the son ofKaren and Edward Chicketti.Chris KlaineJunior • Major: Athletic TrainingHometown (High School): North Bend, OH(Taylor)Klaine returns for his third season with the Mount.He competed in all seven of the team’s 2011 meets,turning in the <strong>Lions</strong>’ top finish in five of thosemeets, and placing among the team’s top three runners each time out.Klaine’s top finishes last season were at the <strong>MSJ</strong> Invitational, where hewas 20 th overall with a time of 20:00, and he recorded a time of 18:53at the 5K Queen City Invitational. Head Coach Tina Blakley says thatKlaine is a positive influence on his teammates and a natural leader.After an injury-marred 2010 season, Klaine bounced back last seasonto have a productive season, says Blakley, where he was able to getstronger, remain free of injury and compete during the entire season.Chris is the son of Christine and Stephen Klaine.Jonathan MathisJunior • Major: Athletic TrainingHometown (High School): Cincinnati, OH(Roger Bacon)Mathis returns for his third season with the Mount.He raced in all seven of the team’s meets last fall,finishing as their top runner five different times, andplacing second for the <strong>Lions</strong> once. Mathis was the team’s top runner atthe HCAC Championship in 2011, finishing 50 th overall with a time of29:23. He was 21 st at the <strong>MSJ</strong> Invitational, with a time of 20:31. HeadCoach Tina Blakley says that Mathis is extremely competitive and eachseason thrives on the team atmosphere. Mathis grabbed a <strong>MSJ</strong> 5K besttime spot in 2010 with an 18:06 at the Queen City Invitational. Inaddition, Mathis does a great job of making new members of the teamfeel comfortable, according to Blakley. Jonathan is the son of Paulineand Michael Mathis.Kory PhelpsJunior • Major: PsychologyHometown (High School): Cincinnati, OH(Oak Hills)Phelps returns for his third season with the Mount.He saw action in six meets last season for the <strong>Lions</strong>,turning in a season-best third place finish among histeammates at the National Catholic Invitational. Phelps had a seasonbesttime of 21:26 at the Queen City Invitational. Head Coach TinaBlakley says that one of Phelps’ greatest attributes is that he brings astrong work ethic and humor to the team. Blakley adds that her juniorrunner has become a strong competitor and made vast improvementsin his performance from the 2010 season to the 2011 season. Kory isthe son of Kathleen Caddell and Don Phelps.Sean WiwiJunior • Major: AccountingHometown (High School): West Harrison, IN(Franklin County)Wiwi returns for his third season with the Mount. Hecompeted in all seven invitationals last fall for the<strong>Lions</strong>, with a season-best fourth place among histeam at the National Catholic Invitational. Wiwi had a time of 25:25 atthe Queen City Meet (5K). He is also on the Mount’s track & field team.Wiwi received the cross country team’s 2011 HCAC All-Sportsmanshipaward and always has a positive attitude, states Head Coach TinaBlakley. She adds that her third-year runner is a dedicated studentathletewho does well academically, continues to improve athletically,and is a wonderful role model for his teammates.
