CENTRE FOR ENERGY STUDIES
(JES)
Indian Institute of Technology
Delhi

Message from HOD
I take this opportunity to introduce
the Centre for Energy Studies, which
has mandated itself in training and
research in energy engineering in
order to meet the challenges of the
future. Since 1976, the department
has initiated research and
development activities on various
relevant aspects of conventional as
well as non conventional energy
sources .
During their post graduate studies with us, our students are
imparted knowledge and skills in areas of energy conversion and
utilization, including renewable energy technologies, alternative
fuels, associated environmental aspects, global climatic change
concern etc.
Given an opportunity to excel in their professional endeavours,
these students have the potential to contribute tremendously to
the growth of the organization they work with.
Prof.R.P.Sharma
Head, Centre for Energy Studies

The centre’s aim is to develop new
Our Vision
innovations towards energy security
and prosperity by addressing energy,
environmental and nuclear
challenges through transformative
science and technology solutions.
An Insight
The Centre for Energy Studies is an inter-disciplinary
centre deriving its strength from
