SIIT <strong>Regulation</strong> of Uniform and Dress Code for Student B.E. 2548 page 1/2<strong>Sirindhorn</strong> <strong>International</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> of <strong>Technology</strong><strong>Regulation</strong> of Uniform and Dress Code for SIIT StudentsB.E. 2548------------------------------------------Whereas it is deemed appropriate to regulate the uniform and dress code of SIIT Students, in order to maintainthe dress code of Thammasat University, encourage students to respect and follow the polite dress culture, and helpstudents develop proper manners;By and with the authority according to Section 12 and Section 39 of the Thammasat University <strong>Regulation</strong>Regarding the Establishment and the Operation of <strong>Sirindhorn</strong> <strong>International</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> of <strong>Technology</strong> (SIIT), B.E. 2540,the Director of SIIT hereby withdraws the “<strong>Regulation</strong> of <strong>Sirindhorn</strong> <strong>International</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> of <strong>Technology</strong>, ThammasatUniversity, regarding the Uniform and Dress Code for SIIT Students B.E. 2547” and issues the regulation of uniformand dress code for SIIT students as follows.Section 1.Section 2.Section 3.Section 4.Section 5.This regulation shall be called the “<strong>Regulation</strong> of <strong>Sirindhorn</strong> <strong>International</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> of<strong>Technology</strong>, Thammasat University, regarding the Uniform and Dress Code for SIITStudents B.E. 2548”This regulation shall come into force after the date of its official announcement.In this regulation:“university” means Thammasat University.“institute” means <strong>Sirindhorn</strong> <strong>International</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> of <strong>Technology</strong>,Thammasat University.“student” means Students of <strong>Sirindhorn</strong> <strong>International</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> of <strong>Technology</strong>,Thammasat University.Student UniformStudent Uniform:Dress in the student uniform of Thammasat UniversityWorkshop ClothesWorkshop clothes for male and female students:5.1 Workshop clothes for hazardous laboratory:- Long-sleeved coat, sleeves may be turned up, dark blue color, thick texture,over-knee, fasten all buttons properly for protection from hazard.- Dark plain trousers.- Closed-heel and closed-toe shoes.5.2 Workshop clothes for non-hazardous laboratory:- Dress in student uniform or proper clothes or- Dress in workshop clothes stated above in item 5.15.3 Workshop clothes as specially defined by each school of SIIT, in accordance withthe regulations of government agencies regarding appropriateness and safety.


SIIT <strong>Regulation</strong> of Uniform and Dress Code for Student B.E. 2548 page 2/2Section 6.Proper ClothesProper clothes are clothes deemed to be polite and tidy.6.1 Proper clothes for male students:6.1.1 Short or long sleeves shirt, polite color, tucked into trousers6.1.2 Plain trousers, no stripe, polite color and style6.1.3 Closed-heel shoes, polite color and style (with polite color and style of socks)6.2 Proper clothes for female students:6.2.1 Short or long sleeve dress, polite color, no garish color or garish stripe6.2.2 Plain skirt (not too short) or trousers, polite color and style6.2.3 Closed-heel shoes or sling-back court shoes, polite color and style6.3 Students may wear a short or long sleeve shirt produced by SIIT or ThammasatUniversity. The shirt must be tucked in the trousers or skirt.6.4 Students may wear plain jeans as trousers. The jeans must be polite color and style.Students are strictly not allowed to wear striped, colorful and/or fashion jeans.6.5 Students may wear workshop clothes outside the laboratories; however, they are notallowed to wear only workshop clothes without proper clothes (specified in 6.1 - 6.4)under the workshop clothes.Section 7. Examples of improper clothes :7.1 T-shirt7.2 Polo Shirt or T-shirt with collar7.3 Garish color or garish stripe7.4 Shirts with no sleeves7.5 Shorts or pedal pushers (three-quarter length slacks) or jeans7.6 See-through texture shirt, skirt or trousers7.7 Sandals or slippers7.8 Any kind of hat, cap, or hoodSection 8.Dress for <strong>Of</strong>ficial and Formal OccasionDress for official and formal occasions for male and female students.8.1 In SIIT boundary:Dress in student uniform, workshop clothes or proper clothes.8.2 In examination room:Student uniform is mandatory.8.3 In practical laboratories:Dress in style of Lab supervisor’s determination.8.4 Formal Occasion:Student uniform is mandatory.
