Operational VersatilityCompact Lightweight Ergonomic DesignThe HVR-V1E is designed to be very compact and lightweight, for a high level of mobility in the field. Itweighs approximately 1.5 kg (3 lb 6 oz) (camcorder only). The design of the HVR-V1E is based on yearsof Sony’s experience in camera ergonomics and provides ease of use and operational comfort.Audio Level DialsTwo audio level dials are located on the carrying handle where they are easy to adjust, whileavoiding inadvertent operations. The microphone power can be easily turned on and off via themechanical switches.EXPOSURE/IRIS DialThe EXPOSURE/IRIS dial is located near the zoom and focus rings for smooth camera operations.The dial can be used to set the iris, AE shift and exposure compensation functions, giving operatorsmanual exposure control during auto exposure mode. The rotation direction and response forcontrolling these functions can be selected via the menu according to operators’ preference.Camera Setting Storage on Memory Stick Duo MediaThe HVR-V1E provides a convenient function to store camera setting data. It can store and recall 20different setting configurations using Memory Stick Duo media and a further two using its built-inmemory. Thesignals generated are processed inthe progressive domain as 1920 x1080p signals, allowing high-resolutionprogressive footage to be captured.The 25p progressive scan signals arerecorded to tape as 50i signals bydividing each frame into two fields.This HDV material can be reverted to itsoriginal 25p form, as captured by thecamera, upon ingestion to a compatiblenon-linear editor1.
