Colour Correctionprovides two functions for creative shooting.The Colour Extraction function can retain upto two desired colours of monitored picturesin the screen, while making all other coloursblack and white. The advanced functionallows users to select the colour simply bypressing a button to memorise the centrecolour of the captured image.The Colour Revision function can changethe hue of only the colour designated by theColour Extraction function. This function is goodnot only for creating impressive images, butalso for blue- or green-screen shooting in orderto normalise uneven colour.The colour data is stored in each Picture Profileso that users can select the most suitablecolour setting for each shooting situation.NormalColour ExtractionWB (White Balance) ShiftThe WB Shift function allows users to createan impressive colour or to adjust the colourtemperature of the camcorder. There are twoWB Shift options to choose from:> LB-CC type: adjusting the LB axis (colourtemperature) and CC filter effect> R-B level type: adjusting the red and blue levelsSkintone DetailThis function allows users to change thesharpness of an object with a specific colourand is particularly good for making skin toneslook more natural. The target colour can bespecified by controlling the Phase/Range/Saturation/Y Level/Y Range parameters or bypressing a button to specify the colour of anobject with a colour picker. If the sharpness ofthe background object is decreased, the blurlooks more natural.Shot Transition FunctionThe Shot Transition function allows for smoothautomatic scene transitions. After you haveprogrammed a shot’s START and END pointsettings (e.g., for zoom, focus, iris, gain, shutterspeed and white balance) and pressed the startbutton, a smooth picture transition takes placeover the duration of the shot by automaticallycalculating intermediate setting values. Thisis very useful when complex camera settingsare required during the scene transition – forexample, when panning the camcorder from adistant object to a close object. Transition typescan be selected from a choice of “LINEAR”,“SOFT STOP” and “SOFT TRANS”, transition time canbe set from 2 to 90 seconds and start delay timecan be selected from 5, 10 and 20 seconds.Shot ATransitionTransitionShot AShot BLINEARMakes a linear transition.TransitionShot AtimeShot BtimeSOFT STOPMakes the transition slowat the end.Shot BSmooth Slow RecThe Smooth Slow Rec function of thecamcorders enables smooth slow-motionplayback by capturing images 4x fasterthan normal (200 fields/s). In this mode,for example, quad-speed images arecaptured for three seconds, stored in thebuilt-in buffer memory and then recordedto tape (in either HDV, DVCAM, or DV format)as slow-motion pictures lasting 12 seconds 1 .This allows recorded images to be checkedimmediately in the field. Recording durationsare available in three, six and 12 secondsdepending on the picture quality.
