PAL BASKETBALL<br />

PAL Basketball Program is coming to a close finish.<br />

According to Sgt. Tom Bruton (Auto) PAL Basketball<br />

Commissioner, no team has a lock on the championship.<br />

A complete wrapup will be reported in next month's<br />

issue.<br />

PAL JUDO<br />

Coach Dirk Beijan reports that the PAL Judo Program<br />

has expanded in order to accommodate the many<br />

new students enrolled. Signups for beginners meet each<br />

Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the 5th floor Gym at the Hall<br />

of Justice. Classes for advanced students are scheduled<br />

for 11:30 a.m. each Saturday. The PAL Judo Program<br />

will take a break for the Christmas holidays and the<br />

next scheduled signup for both classes is Saturday,<br />

January 8, 1983. All interested boys and girls from 10 to<br />

18 years of age may simply show up at the above location<br />

for signups. Judo Commissioner Officer Joe Mollo<br />

further reports that signups are scheduled only on the<br />

first Saturday of each month. Other Instructors<br />

assisting in the program besides George York are: Officer<br />

Frank McKee (Co E) and Mitch Lang.<br />

PAL BOXING<br />

Head Coach Bill Mateo reports that our PAL Boxing<br />

Team is preparing for the 1982 Junior Golden Gloves<br />

competition scheduled for Dec. 2, 3, 4 and 5 in<br />

Alameda. A complete wrapup will be reported in next<br />

month's column. PAL Boxing is offered to boys 10<br />

through 18 years of age. Workouts are Mondays<br />

through Thursdays 3:30 p.m. through 7 p.m. at the old<br />

National Guard Armory, 14th and Mission Streets. Call<br />

PAL Headquarters (567-3215) for signups.<br />
