Keep to the left.• Caution is required when crossing roads. Ride single file onnarrow bridges. Take care on uneven sections of pavement.• A popular on-road detour for extra distance and variedscenery is via Christmas Bells Road, Aviation Drive andAirport Drive.The Sawtell ConnectionRouteDistanceDescriptionStart/finishHighlightsSawtell Road Roundabout to Sawtell Headland6 km one way.On-road routes to Sawtell. Sawtell Road has moderatetraffic and some hills. Take the back streets of Toorminafor a quieter option.Sawtell Road roundabout.The heritage village of Sawtell is a popular destinationfor cyclists.• Take the direct route along Sawtell route if you arecomfortable riding with some traffic.• Alternative route – take Wirrabilla Drive, Lalaguli Driveand Werambie Street. Use the pathway at the end ofWerambie Street to cut through to Hulberts Road.Cross the railway, then take Sixteenth Avenue, past SawtellRailway Station, then ride along Boronia Streetto First Avenue.• Caution required crossing Sawtell Road and the level crossing.• Take a detour along Minorie Drive to check out theVelodrome and Criterion Track.• Turn left into Boronia Street. The detour to SawtellHeadland is a must for fantastic ocean and creek views.• Grab a coffee or a meal at one of the many cafes in FirstAvenue or at the Surf Club.Pacific Highway Cycleway LinkRouteDistanceDescriptionStart/finishHighlightsHogbin Drive to Pine Creek Way via Pacific Highwaycycle path9 km one way.Alternative route from Coffs to Pine Creek Way, using theshared path alongside the Pacific Highway.From Howard Street to Lyons Road/Pine Creek WayMostly off-road, shared path. A great facility for cyclists.• Take the Hogbin Drive cycleway to CHEC (EducationCampus) roundabout. Turn right into Stadium Drive. Thereare bike lanes, but these are inconsistent.
