2. The EDIT stage containing LEVEL must be after a < (from disk) stage and<br />

cannot have a NETVIEW or COUNT stage between < (from disk) and<br />

EDIT. The NETVIEW and COUNT stages reset the concatenation values.<br />

lineattr (input order)<br />

Specifies that the edit phrase input is one of the line attributes of the current<br />

line processed by the edit phrase. Edit phrases operate on one line at a time.<br />

The lineattr specifies attributes of the current line being processed by the edit<br />

phrase.<br />

The lineattr attribute can be one of the following values:<br />

LINECOUNT<br />

LINECOUNT gets the line count from the current line as set by a previous<br />

COUNT EACHLINE, VET ROWS, or STEM (as a first stage). Any other<br />

source <strong>for</strong> LINECOUNT yields unpredictable results. See “PIPE COUNT ”<br />

on page 59, “PIPE VET” on page 261, and “PIPE STEM and PIPE $STEM”<br />

on page 226 <strong>for</strong> more in<strong>for</strong>mation.<br />

LINECOUNT returns an EBCDIC number preceded by either a plus (+) or<br />

a minus (−) sign. This number is not padded unless the global order PAD<br />

/0/ is specified. If padded, LINECOUNT always returns a plus or minus<br />

sign followed by a 10-character number padded with leading zeros.<br />

LINEORIGIN<br />

Uses as input the value of the HDRDOMID field <strong>for</strong> the message buffer<br />

being examined. The HDRDOMID field usually contains the domain ID<br />

where the line originated, but it might contain some other value. For<br />

example, when the From Disk (
