Chromogenic In Situ HybridizationChromogenic In Situ Hybridization (CISH) is increasingly emerging as a viable alternative to FISH and oftenselected as the method of choice for molecular pathologists for visualizing over-expression of genes involved intumor development. CISH, like FISH, directly visualizes the number of gene copies present in the nucleus, and itproduces a permanent record of the slide that can be interpreted with a regular light microscope in the contextof the tumor histopathology.TwinStarOur latest product range TwinStar is designed for dual-colorCISH enabling the possibility to study ratio of genes in alight microscope, like for the Her-2 gene in relation to thecentromeric region of chromosome 17. Each kit includesthe corresponding FISH probes and the specific TwinStardetection module converting both signals into chromogenicsignals via a colorimetric assay system.The TwinStar CISH Detection Kit is a module of all TwinStarassays including all reagents required to perform dual-colorCISH. The detection part includes two proprietary substratesconverting both fluorescent signals into distinct colorimetricsignals, the red fluor is converted into a red signal and thegreen fluor into a grayish-green signal. TwinStar provides auniversal solution capable of transforming all of Kreatech´sdual-color FISH probes into chromogenic signals.UniStarUniStar is based on a novel assay based on its well establishedPoseidon DNA probes, enabling the clinician to consecutivelyperform FISH and CISH on the same sample.In a first step, the sample is hybridized to specific fluorescentlabeledDNA probes enabling analysis under a fluorescencemicroscope. In addition, they include a specific detection moduleconverting the signal of the critical probe into a chromogenicsingle-color signal via a colorimetric assay system.
