ON BCL6 (3q27) Break (tissue)Chromosomal translocations involving band 3q27 withvarious different partner chromosomes represent a recurrentcytogenetic abnormality in B-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.A FISH strategy using two differently labeled flanking BCL6probes provides a robust, sensitive, and reproducible methodfor the detection of common and uncommon abnormalities ofBCL6 gene in interphase nuclei. Kreatech has developed thisprobe for the specific use on cell material (KBI-10607), or forthe use on tissue (KBI-10730).ON MALT (18q21) Break (tissue)Low grade malignant lymphomas arising from mucosaassociated lymphoid tissue (MALT) represent a distinctclinicopathological entity. The three major translocationsseen in MALT lymphomas are t(11;18)(q21;q21)/API2-MALT1, t(14;18)(q32;q21)/IGH-MALT1 and t(1;14)(p22;q32)/IGH-BCL10. A break or split probe for MALT (18q21) isbest used to analyze translocation of the MALT gene onformalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue for routine clinicaldiagnosis.Note: Two different breakpoint regions have been identified, the major breakpoint region (MBR) is located within the5’ noncoding region of the BCL6 proto-oncogene, while theatypical breakpoint region (ABR) is located approximately 250kb proximal to the BCL6 gene. The Poseidon BCL6 (3q27) isdesigned in a way to flank both possible breakpoints, therebyproviding clear split signals in either case.Kreatech has developed this probe for the specific use oncell material (KBI-10608), or for the use on tissue (KBI-10731).Cat.# KBI-10730 ON BCL6 (3q27) Break (tissue)Cat.# KBI-10731 ON MALT (18q21) Break (tissue)D18S1055D3S4060345 KB550 KBMALT18q21ABR*BCL6MBR*350 KB18680 KBD3S3245RH 1038853q273ABR* atypical breakpoint regionMBR* major breakpoint regionOncology Probes - Solid TumorsBCL6 (3q27) Break probe hybridized to patient material showingboth normal (2RG) and aberrant signals (1RG1R1G).Image kindly provided by Prof Siebert, KielLiterature:Butler et al, 2002, Cancer Res, 62; 4089-4094.Sanchez-Izquierdo, 2001, Leukemia, 15; 1475-1484.Ordering information Color Tests Cat#ON BCL6 (3q27) Break (tissue) red/green 10 KBI-10730MALT (18q21) Break tissue probe hybridized to paraffinembedded material (2RG).Literature:Morgan et al, 1999, Cancer Res, 59; 6205-6213Dierlamm et al, 2000, Blood, 96; 2215-2218.Ordering information Color Tests Cat#ON MALT (18q21) Break (tissue) red/green 10 KBI-1073164
