TMPRSS2-ERG (21q22) Del, Break, TCThe transmembrane protease serine 2 gene (TMPRSS2) isinvolved in gene fusions with ERG, ETV1 or ETV4 in prostatecancer. In recent studies it has been described that theexpression of the TMPRSS2-ERG fusion gene is a strongprognostic factor for the risk of prostate cancer recurrencein prostate cancer patients treated by surgery. The TMPRSS2-ERG rearrangement probe is optimized todetect the deletion between TMPRSS2 and ERG at 21q22associated with the TMPRSS2-ERG fusion in a triple-colordeletion assay. It also detects translocations involving theTMPRSS2 region such as ETV1 t(7;21), or ETV4 t(17;21).ON IGH (14q32) Break (tissue)Chromosomal rearrangements involving the immunoglobulinheavy chain gene (IGH) at 14q32 are observed in 50% ofpatients with B-cell non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL) andmany other types of Lymphomas. More than 50 translocationpartners with IGH have been described. In particular t(8;14),is associated with Burkitt’s lymphoma, t(11;14) is associatedwith Mantle cell lymphoma, t(14;18) is observed in a highproportion of follicular lymphomas and t(3;14) is associatedwith Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma. The IGH (14q32) break probe is optimized to detecttranslocations involving the IGH gene region at 14q32 ina dual-color, split assay. Kreatech has developed this probefor the specific use on cell material (KBI-10601), or for theuse on tissue (KBI-10729).Cat.# KBI-10726 TMPRSS2-ERG (21q22) Del, Break, TCCat.# KBI-10729 ON IGH (14q32) Break (tissue)D21S143921RH123924ERGETS2D21S34921q22TMPRSS2700 KBGAP 2.3 MB600 KB14D14S683EJAG2IGHCIGHJIGHD14q32IGHV600 KB400 KBD14S308700 KBD21S1820TMPRSS2-ERG (21q22) rearrangement probe hybridized to prostatecarcinoma tissue showing a deletion of the TMPRSS2 (21q22) generegion associated with TMPRSS2-ERG fusion (1RGB 1RB).Image kindly provided by Dr. Texeira, Porto.Literature:Perner et al, 2006 Cancer Res 66; 8337-8341Hermans et al, 2006, Cancer Res 66; 10658-10663Attard et al, 2008, Oncogene 27; 253-263Ordering information Color Tests Cat#TMPRSS2-ERG (21q22) Del, Break, TC red/green 10 KBI-10726IGH (14q32) Break probe hybridized to patient material showinga partial deletion of 14q32 (1RG1R).Literature:Taniwaki et al, 1994, Blood, 83: 2962-1969.Gozetti et al, 2002, Cancer Research, 62: 5523-5527.Ordering information Color Tests Cat#ON IGH (14q32) Break (tissue) red/green 10 KBI-10729Oncology Probes - Solid Tumors63
