IN September the 91st were for a second timeunder orders to take part in the Peninsular War,and on the 18th and 19th of that month theyemharked at Chatham in small craft, whichdropped down to the Nore, where the men weretranshipped to the transports Malabar, Diomede,and Success, which set sail on the 20th; butbeing dispersed by a gale, they arrived at Corunnaon the following dates :the Diomede on the 6th,the Success on the 9th, and the Malabar on the12th of October, and the troops were landed on thesucceeding days. The Malabar conveyed 300 menof the Guards in addition to the men of the 91st.On the 14th the regiment set out to join thegrand army under the Duke of Wellington,arriving at Yillafranca, about twelve miles fromBenevento, on the 1st of November.
