Ten days later wefind the regiment again encamped in the samequarter of Wynberg. On the 14th of Septemberthe regiment encamped with the rest of the armyat Rondebosch and Wynberg,and for the remainderof that year nothing of special interestisoi. is recorded. In 1801 the regiment passed fromBrigadier-GeneralFraser's to General Yandeleur'sdivision, and in parting with them, theformer officer issued a general order, expressinghis entire approval of the conduct of the menwhile under his command. On the 14th ofFebruary the regiment re-occupied the quartersin Cape Town, and on the 21st of March againelicited a complimentary general order fromGeneral Dundas for their efficiency and generaldiscipline.In June, 1801, the colours of the regiment werealtered, on the occasion of the union betweenGreat Britain and Ireland.1802. The 1st of January, 1803, was fixedfor the evacuation ;and the English troops hadactually commenced to embark when, on the 21stof December, a vessel arrived, which had leftPlymouth on the 31st of October, with orders todelay the cession, as it was probable that warwould break out again immediately. The Dutchtroops were, therefore, cantoned- at Wynberg,where they remained until February, 1803, whenfresh orders from England were received, and thecolony was given up." Meanwhile, however,the 91st had returned from their campat Rondeboschto Cape Town, and. in November, 1802,the first division of the regimentTable Bay for England, arrivingembarked atat Portsmouthin February, 1803, and marching from thence toHilsea Barracks.
