Commanded the 1st battalion fromOctober, 1842, until he retired in October, 1848, having served withhis regiment throughout the wars of 1846-47.Ling, John Theodore. Served towards theclose of the Eastern campaign of 1855-56, with the local rank ofmajor, as commandant of the 7th Regiment of Albanian Cavalry.Captain, 16th October, 1855.
